A Matter of Good Taste (go directly to the hard core rules)

We do not accept donations, nor do we solicit funds.  We are not a public service.  We reserve the right to refuse entry for any reason.  We have a number guidelines that preserve our culture, but are not formalized into any "rules" and do not appear in .show rules online.  Violating these can get you arrested or worse.  We consider these a matter of good taste.  They include, but are not limited to:

• At Iron Rose, "safe" includes "sober".   Pretending to be drunk, or being obviously intoxicated online, is not permitted.
• Do not sit in our public rooms and discuss other talkers.  By the same token, give other talkers the same courtesy. We don't mind if you recommend us to a few people at other places, but do not sit in another talker's public room talking about Iron Rose.  We encourage posting other talkers' addresses on our boards.  We do not mind reasonable advertising.  We request that you do not post ads for Iron Rose on other talkers' boards, as some consider it rude and we are trying to be good neighbors.
• We respectfully request that you do not use bots or programs to prevent your session from logging out.  There is a 20 minute idle allowance.
• You are not permitted to have another member's name in your description or profile without consent.
• You are not permitted to post anything nasty about any member, any other talker, or Iron Rose, on the boards.
• You are not permitted to have anything nasty about any member, any other talker, or Iron Rose, in your profile.
• We are about BDSM education and information.  We are not your therapy session.  Creating ongoing or regular disturbances in public rooms to draw attention to yourself will get you removed permanently.
• If you log into a room that can be made private and it is already occupied, even by one person, please be courteous and move elsewhere.  Rooms which we recommend using for idling, and logging in/out of include dom_discussion, subs_space, and switch_sanctum.
• The rooms dom_discussion, subs_space, and switch_sanctum are for people who identify (and have it in their profile) as dominant, submissive, and switch only.  Although we all enjoy writing on each other's boards in good fun, you are not permitted to wander into a room that does not match your D/s identification when that room is occupied.  Time spent there should be very brief, only long enough to post your message and depart.
• If someone places you on their .set igall (see .help set igall) list and you create an alias to get around it, you will be banned.
• Underage users, and the person(s) who brought the underage user to the talker, are banned for a minimum of one year.
• Vanilla scening or heavy petting, without any elements of BDSM are inappropriate in the lair for extended periods of time.
• All contact is consensual.  Touching someone without consent is enough to get you arrested.
• Horny Net Geeks are not welcome.  Asking everyone to "be my Mistress" or for sex is unacceptable.
• Gender bending is not permitted.  The TV, TS, TG, CD community is always welcome.  We only ask that you use a gender that identifies and eliminates confusion.  MtF TS for example.  We do this to discourage the horny net geeks who pretend to be another gender for quick, cheap net.sex, not to penalize anyone else.  Gender bending will result in a ban of a minimum of one year.
• Harrassment of any sort is not permitted.  If someone says "no" to your invitation, that doesn't mean it's ok to ask them again tomorrow and the day after that.
• Calling people an honorific (as in Master/Mistress) without their permission is unacceptable.  You earn the right to use that honorific.
• Expecting or demanding that people call you an honorific (as in Master/Mistress) is unacceptable.  You earn the respect to be called that honorific.
• We permit or deny the use of names on our own whim.  In general, sleaze is frowned upon.  "bighotcock" is not a good name.   After all, everyone knows that if it's in your profile in cyber, it's not in your pants in real life.
• Multiple aliases are permitted.  However, using aliases to play head games is not.  Bambi could not create an alias and then use that alias to ask people what they think of Bambi, for example.  People found to be playing head games will have all aliases from their site listed on the lair board.  The site itself will not be included, of course, as that can reveal geographical location.  We do not reveal or release site information under any circumstances.

Violations will result in warnings, arrests, bans, as we see fit.  We strongly encourage our members to report any violations of our cultural guidelines as well as our rules, to a Dungeon Master.  We don't want you to have to put up with jerks, so help us get rid of them as quickly as possible.

We are also proud of the fact that Iron Rose is not a democracy.   It never has been.  It never will be.  We have very clear guidelines about what we envision for our talker, and those members who make Iron Rose their home do as well.  We constantly ask for input from our members, but in the end the decisions are ours.

Iron Rose Rules

Iron Rose is created as a place for serious BDSM discussion and learning. It is intended as a comfortable place to ask serious BDSM questions, offer assistance, and create a support group/online community where we encourage each other. If this is also your intent, we are delighted to welcome you.

1. Treat other users with respect and courtesy. Yes, being nasty, ugly and rude is enough to be escorted to the door.
2. No means no. If you can't accept "no thank you" graciously, forget it. Public requests for sex not only will get you laughed at, but will also get you bounced. Consent is everything.
3. Using any BDSM command without consent is cause for 48 hour arrest (minimum) and repeated offenses will get your site banned.
4. The Lair is our gathering place. If you have a discussion of interest to only a few people, please move to a private room and enjoy your discussion there. We do, however, allow public scening in the Lair. If you're not in the mood (we all have headaches sometimes) scoot off to the Black_Pearl! By the same token, if your scene goes on too long we'll shove you out. Lovingly done, but we really don't want to watch you hog the stage for hours.
5. There is no scening in the entrance or in the Black_Pearl. Black_Pearl is our alternate gathering place.
6. Human, mortal, non-magical bodies only in the Lair, demo_room, and black_pearl. There's a nice rack by the door to hang fur, deposit magical potions, and shelve vampire teeth.
7. No blood in the Lair.

Even if a Dungeon Master isn't around, report problems via smail. We take your complaints seriously.

Ice Fire Rules

Ice Fire has been created as a place for the discussion of serious BDSM issues and ideas and as a place to share and learn from each other. It is also intended as a comfortable place where you can make your mark and have your own space. If you wish to discuss serious BDSM, ask serious BDSM questions and get serious answers, offer assistance, and create a support group/online community where we encourage each, then you've come to the right place. We are delighted to welcome you.

We do not allow public scening in the Gathering_Place as this is our only public room. If you wish to scene publicly, we offer the Voyeur room for your enjoyment (And ours!).
5. The Entrance is reserved for setting up of accounts and log on's only. If you are in the Entrance for any other reason, you will be asked to move. There is no scening in the Entrance.
6. Any room deemed racial, rude, or just plain offensive will be removed. You may change your room description and profile as often as you like, but if a complaint is filed we will investigate. If you find a room that you consider to be offensive, please contact a DM as soon as possible. If one isn't available, try copying the offensive text and emailing it to a DM to view. Kim's word on what is offensive is final.

Even if a Dungeon Master isn't around, report problems via smail. We take your complaints seriously.
