Interrogation Part II
With Samantha

Samantha says: A quick recap of last night’s discussion. Katherine talked to us about the purpose of interrogation, and what interrogation actually is. Interrogation is to question formally and systematically. She also talked about historical perspectives, and reasons we do interrogation scenes, like for a test of will, roleplaying, etc. She went over how to set the scene: the preparation the top and bottom have to go through, communication, plot, setting, costumes. After that, Katherine discussed how to actually pull the interrogation scene off. How to heighten anticipation, what to do when the interrogatee arrives. We also talked about the three degrees of an interrogation scene.. I'll go over those again, extensively, adding in some other techniques, etc.

There are different techniques that someone can use in an interrogation scene. How do you want this torture to happen? Humiliation, confinement, restraints, physical stimuli?

Samantha says: For example.. take humiliation. Dress the bottom in rags, or nudity. Ignore their presence and pleading. Also, don't allow privacy. In the first degree, the top would ask for a confession repeatedly. The bottom could be fully clothed. Don't disclose charge or suspicion, and ask for full cooperation. Use a firm, but even tone. Don't get excited. Ask them why they are there. Try to get everything out of them. Don't give hints yourself. After this is done - you want to have a 'safe' spot for the bottom. Between degree's its important to return them to this spot, whether it be a straw bed, or a corner of a dark room. Just where they know they are safe.

Samantha says: When you return them urge them to think about what they've done, and when you return, confess. Leave them there. in humiliation, ignore them. Ignore their presence, their pleading. They don't exist, and you don't care. When you return for the second degree, Take the bottom out of his 'safe spot.’ Strip them. Use rags, or total nudity. Repeat demand for a confession. If you are using restraints, increase the severity. Show the interrogattee the instruments of torture and describe the effects. If they don't give in.. they return to their 'safe spot' yet again.

In the third degree question aggressively. Reward confessions or implications of others and punish false/evasive answers. Remember...only the truth shall set them free. Don't go too far too fast - make it last. The third degree is where it ends.

Samantha says: Remember, in interrogation scenes (they are called sometimes consensually unconsensual) there is no safeword. What stops the scene? The truth. Tell what the top wants to hear, and its all over. Of course, this is negotiated before hand.

If you use confinement in your interrogation scene, some ideas are a cage with straw, a closet, a cellar. Restraint should be continuous, used to prevent escape or relocation. I don't think Dom/mes take too kindly to me jumping up and running around the room, screaming Neener neener neener, I'm not answering. That’s not the point. Tie the bottom down, so they can't escape.

Samantha says: Interrogations can get pretty intense...its a possibility they will want to run. Samantha winks As far as your physical stimulus: beatings, fists, whips, etc.. burning with wax, electricity, cutting, needles. Vary techniques to maintain intensity. Don't threaten me with a flogger in an interrogation scene. If you do..then i'll never tell! I LOVE floggers. It needs to be something scary.. something that would push their limits.

Smokey asks: You mentioned that "the tell all" was negotiated before hand - having missed part 1, this may be a repeat... is this the "confession"?
Samantha nods. Yes The confession is what we are after. It is what ends the scene.

Samantha says: When you are ending the scene.. reasons to end the scene are that the interrogattee confesses or implicates numerous real acquaintances in a personally embarrassing manner.

Time constraints. Info can arrive which confirms innocence or you are ordered by HQ to release the subject. Things could just get out of hand. Interrogation, once again, can be pretty intense. As far as the ending actions - if the scene is to continue, then the bottom should leave still in role and costume. If it is over change into normal attire and let the bottom babble.

Aftercare, etc. If its a bad scene, drop the role, comfort and reassure. Remember, this is an adult fun involving fantasy and physically intense. Not real life. You can play intensely , but you must play safely, both physically and emotionally. Avoid going to fast or too far. In interrogation, sometimes you shouldn't do this with the partner you trust the most. For one, trust is established, and well, would most people believe that their master/mistress is going to really cut them into little bits? Or inject a chemical with a needle into them? And what if you do this with a partner that you do trust, and suddenly, the trust is broken? That takes a long time to reestablish. I'm NOT saying to do this with a Stranger! Have your dominant 'arrange' for you an interrogation scene. Someone they know in the scene they trust that they can negotiate with.
Samantha asks: Smokey?

Samantha says: Interrogation scenes don't have to be this elaborate. Kim gave me a great example of 'map interrogation. Let’s take the violet wand for example, as our torture device. Ask the bottom.. what street do you live on? Well, that’s easy, huh? At least it SHOULD be. Then, go east. What street is directly to the east of you? And after that? And after that? Keep going.. you don't know? *zap*

Samantha asks: After that? Is that the street or ISN'T it? *zap zap* Then go to the west, and north. You get the idea. You can do this with area codes, counties, whatever. It can be a lot of fun, and its not a full roleplaying scene that we described earlier.

Samantha says: Another one I heard of just recently was... I have a good friend. They caught a submissive lying to them. They KNOW it was a lie. They pulled out our friend, the candle, inserted it into the submissive’s ass and lit it. Then waited for the 'truth to set them free.’ Boy oh boy did they find out the truth. About this, and that, and things they didn’t' even WANT to know the truth about. Samantha grins. Use your imagination. All I know is, if there was a burning candle near MY ass.. I’d be screaming the truth too. (Katherine is asked if she has anything to add, does not respond, and Sam says Kath must be sleeping.)

Samantha grins. There were questions last night about how and what to negotiate. I'll go over that a bit more. You obviously can't go in and say. I'm interrogating you about killing a man, and you have to admit that you didn't do it, but knew it was planned and you were in on it, but Madam X actually committed the murder. That’s booooooring.

Katherine is not sleeping. Katherine says: just lagging.
Kim points a finger at Katherine. "LIES LIES!"
Samantha zaps Katherine. Samantha exclaims: tell the TRUTH!
Kim says: oh goodie.
Katherine says: oooh do it again
xaveria eeks and hides under a chair
Katherine zips her lips and doesn't tell

Samantha says: Anyway, go in and negotiate the normal things. Let’s do an interrogation? Okay? Discuss limits and safewords IF you use safewords. Like I said earlier, many don't use safewords in interrogation scenes because only the confession will make the 'torture' stop. Discuss your plot. And ya know what? The bottom doesn't even have to be guilty! Heh. The life of Dominants.

If they wanna interrogate you, just to see you sweat, they can do it. There doesn't have to be a 'confession given' at any time. The top can just roleplay it to get a call of innocence, and then release the victim. And if the victim doesn't have a strong will and caves in with the truth too soon, arrange for that. Stop the 'intense' interrogation. Move forward to the punishment or reward for their misdeeds.

Samantha says: just remember to play safe. Remember emotional and physical safety. Emotions can run high in these types of scenes.

ZonEl asks: So Sam....what did you confess?
Samantha laughs.. I've been a good girl. Nothing to confess.
